This DTM (digital bobbin case tension gauge) is the improved version of the former version of TOWA TM.
Difference between the new versus the former:
1. The measuring range is 10mN (1gf) ~ 5000mN (500gf) versus the former one 10mN (1gf) ~ 400mN (40gf)
2. It can measure not only the under (bobbin) thread, but also the upper (needle) thread tension.
3. It is now possible to only replace the optional attachment (bobbin case holder) and to measure both a standard type (TM-501) and a large type (TM-502) instead of buying another tension gauge
Comparing with the unreliable traditional "Drop Test" method (see video 1, video 2 & video 3), this TOWA bobbin tension gauge is much more accurate and trustworthy.

- Standardizing and optimizing the thread tension of all bobbins in the workplace greatly reduces needle breakage during sewing operations as incorrect (too tight) thread tension will increase NEEDLE BREAKAGE.
- Accurate measuring of the thread tension in bobbin is vital for sewing
- Provides more accurate and consistent tensions than by using a "drop" test.

- The tension gauge is suitable for all brands of bobbin case.
Remarks: The normal tension setting for the bobbin is 250mN-300mN (= 25-30gf)
Result: Proper bobbin tension will result in less needle breakage.
