Standard Reference: ASTM PS79-96, ASTM F963, EN 71, JAPAN Standard

Snap button testing equipment is:
  • To verify snaps to be firmly attached to apparels or toys.
  • To prevent loose snaps to be swallowed by infants resulting in juridical responsibility.
Test result: All snaps and buttons are required to withstand attachment strength of 17 lbs (7.7kg) for 10 seconds. If failure to so, the snap button is deemed to be unsafe.
